Height of Narmada Dam was 80.3 meters in 1990; in 2003 it has been raised to 100 meters plus 3 meter hump. Narmada waters started flowing from Kevadia to Kutch – a remarkable achievement in the history of the state. Villages were provided water through pipelines instead of tankers. 10 rivers recharged and filled up 700 ponds. A new era of Water revolution begin.
900 kilometers of pipelines were laid within 700 days.
Water supply works completed up to Bhachau Sump to provide Narmada Water to Kutch district at a cost of Rs. 130 crore. Pipeline works completed up to Anjar, Kukma, Mundra and Mandvi from Bhachau sump.
Water supply scheme based on Narmada Canal to provide water supply to 39 towns including State Capital Gandhinagar is under progress.
22 water supply schemes covering 1819 villages completed in the last year and started water supply to 1610 villages.
126 % achievement of target under 20 point programme by completing 631 individual village water supply schemes against the target of 500 schemes.
Water Supply to 8 cities & 308 villages at the cost of Rs. 364 crores. Plan to finish the remaining 8 cities & 410 villages by March 2004
Completed construction of 357 Kilometers of Narmada Main Canal and 475 Kilometers of sub canals.
125 government buildings at district level covered under Rain Water Harvesting, a new initiative in water conservation.
A comprehensive action plan for Integrated Water Resource Development of Rs. 319 crore for tribal area of Sabarkantha and Dahod districts.
