	In the last 1 year, strict penal action has been taken against willful defaulters. Effective steps taken by Gujarat Co-operative Societies Act in the current year have resulted in the growth and revival of the Co-operative Banking Sector in Gujarat.
	Gujarat is the only state in the country to have authentic Disaster prevention, mitigation and handling capacity. Gujarat State Disaster Management Authority is the only institution of its type. It was given UN Sasakawa award by the United Nations for its outstanding work in Disaster Reduction. A new state-of-the-art Disaster Management institute is coming up. Gujarat's Earthquake Rehabilitation & Reconstruction Project as well as Drought Management is considered to be one of the best in the world.
