Vibrant Gujarat - Global Investors' Summit 2003

A state with a global vision and work culture of a multinational, Gujarat had initiated a corporate move to help the crème de la crème in the world of business, trade and commerce walk the red carpet to prosperity.

A three-day Summit was organised during September 28 to 30, 2003 at Ahmedabad in India as a part of overall celebration of the Navratri Festival. International conventions brought together global and Gujarat-based companies, providing them a platform for one-to-one interaction, facilitating technology transfer, joint ventures and provided them a bridge to help ink trade agreements.

The Industrial Policy 2003, New Mines and Minerals Policy for the first time, New Tourism Policy and Agro Processing Policy are some of the tangible steps taken to expand the horizons of Economic development of the state. Investment proposals worth Rs. 66,068.50 crore were received in the Vibrant Gujarat Summit.

The Government of Gujarat is celebrating the festival of Uttarayan (Makar Sankranti) in January 2004 in a grand manner. The festivities immediately follow the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (NRI Day) being celebrated in New Delhi from 9th to 11th Jauary 2004.

Gujarat invites the sons of its soil, living around the globe, to come and witness the grand festival of Uttarayan in the land of their roots and revive the bonds.

The Government is organising a grand Uttarayan celebration and welcome from 12th to 14th January 2004, and has planned Kite Flying, Cultural Events and Tours for the visitors.
